| There
are several ways to get to Martha’s Vineyard,
including a year-round 45-minute ferry ride
from Wood’s Hole, MA and short plane rides
from Boston, Hyannis, New Bedford, or Providence,
RI.
During the summer, there
are numerous choices for ferries from Cape Cod
and New Bedford and additional flight service
from a number of cities: These include: Newark,
NJ; Laguardia, NY; Westchester County, NY; Baltimore,
MD; Bedford, MA; Portsmouth, NH, Atlantic City,
NJ; and Philadelphia, PA.
It is not necessary
to make a reservation on most ferries, unless
you plan to bring a car. The Steamship Authority
in Woods Hole is the only ferry service that
accommodates vehicles; it is also the only ferry
service available year-round.
Your Landmarks agent
can give you advice on the best way to reach
the island from your location, and if you’re
coming to see a property, we can usually arrange
to pick you up at the airport or boat terminal.
