There are several ways to get to Martha’s Vineyard, including a year-round 45-minute ferry ride from Wood’s Hole, MA and short plane rides from Boston, Hyannis, New Bedford, or Providence, RI.

During the summer, there are numerous choices for ferries from Cape Cod and New Bedford and additional flight service from a number of cities: These include: Newark, NJ; Laguardia, NY; Westchester County, NY; Baltimore, MD; Bedford, MA; Portsmouth, NH, Atlantic City, NJ; and Philadelphia, PA.

It is not necessary to make a reservation on most ferries, unless you plan to bring a car. The Steamship Authority in Woods Hole is the only ferry service that accommodates vehicles; it is also the only ferry service available year-round.

Your Landmarks agent can give you advice on the best way to reach the island from your location, and if you’re coming to see a property, we can usually arrange to pick you up at the airport or boat terminal. Following is information on the various island transportation sources:
